CHICAGO SUN-TIMES AURORA, ILLINOIS
A recent four-month drug investigation resulted in four vehicles being added to the Kane County Sheriff’s Department undercover fleet. Sheriff Pat Perez told members of the County Board’s Judicial and Public Safety Committee this week that the drug investigation began in Aurora, and led to Hanover Park in Cook County. It was there that Kane deputies executed search and arrest warrants. The department also seized six vehicles, four of which "are worthy of staying in our fleet as undercover vehicles," Perez said. Comments
we have been using seized vehicles for years now since the forfeiture laws went into effetc...hell, wh have had corvettes, high performance mustangs, mercedes, caddies, trucks, you name it..they make good UC vehicles for sure and at a hell of a savings to departments...

We have seased some really "tight" vehicle's, but for some odd reason we've not taken advantage of using them in our crime fighting battles. Now I don't get to make the call, but if someone could point me in the right direction to get some information on the rules for making this happen. I'll pass it on and perhaps our dept. can also begin taking advantage of seased vehicles.
