Although his idea was soundly defeated at the National Letter Carriers' Association convention last month, Dean Peterson is going "full kilt" ahead.
The 6-foot-tall, 250-pound postman from Washington state is campaigning for the right to take off his pants on the job. He wants the U.S. Postal Service to add kilts as a uniform option for men.

A woman gives her mail to a postal worker.
Peterson, who is not of Scottish ancestry, began wearing kilts a couple years ago when his wife brought one back from a trip to Scotland. He now wears them everywhere -- to one son's football games, the other son's concerts, shopping and gardening.
His big reason for pushing kilts for work: comfort. Peterson says with his build, his thighs fill his trousers to capacity, causing chafing and scarring.

Being from Scottish and English ancestry myself, I still never had the guts to wear kilts. Why not? It'll sure get attention on a windy day.

det ret rpd narc: I guess....
the postman is a closet cross dresser who wants an excuse to come out and "play" and wear kilts on duty instead of a dress....which makes me question, if a woman can wear a dress to work, can't a man if he wants? woman wer pants, why couldn't this guy wear his dress? Equal rights on just some things?and not others? Let him wear his dress/kilt even if he is not scottish

Don't you think it's also creating a job hazard? If I were a guy, I wouldn't want my goods swinging out there for the local pitbull or rottweiler. Given the relationship between postal carriers and dogs, uh... Spike the pitbull's gonna get himself some kilt kibbles'n'bits.
Scotsman wear kilts because sheep can hear zippers, anyways.

Chafing. He has the Chub Rub and needs to lose some weight: pants have to be more comfy, or shorts at least!
Eeeeeesh.
Knowing Seattle, they'll make kilts standard uniform issue for Cops who use segways. Segway patrol? Here's your kilt.
