COLUMBUS DISPATCH DUBLIN, OHIO
Ohio Attorney General's Office Alan D. Patton An admitted child molester is again facing charges of attempting to obtain and drink boys' urine. Alan D. Patton, 56, of 6269 Emberwood Rd. on the Northwest Side, was trying to collect urine in a men's restroom at Sports Ohio, 6314 Cosgray Rd., when he was arrested June 14, Dublin police say. Patton was found in a men's restroom where he had allegedly covered toilet seats in plastic wrap, shut off water to urinals and placed Styrofoam cups in them. Sports Ohio employees told police that they recognized Patton as the man who had tampered with another men's restroom there a week earlier. Patton, a registered sex offender, admitted in 1994 to sexually assaulting four boys ages 7 and 9 in public restrooms in Columbus. At the time, Patton's attorney said Patton suffers from urophilia, an interest in urine for sexual gratification. When he was arrested two weeks ago, Patton said "he wasn't hurting anyone and that he suffers from an 'illness,' " a police report said. "He said he tries to control his urges but he can't." He admitted to police that he posted "out of service" signs and tampered with the toilets and urinals to collect boys' urine to drink. Police charged him with criminal mischief. Patton threatened to commit suicide and told police he needed to care for his 84-year-old mother, the report said. He was taken to Franklin County jail and later posted bond. He is due in court July 11. Patton served four years of the eight-year term he was sentenced to in 1994. In 1990, 1992, 2003 and twice in 2006, he was convicted of offenses including voyeurism, public indecency and disorderly conduct in Columbus, Westerville and Gahanna. In 2006, he was arrested at a Gahanna movie theater after a similar incident. Six months later, he violated terms of his probation by entering a restroom at the Hard Road branch library. His probation was extended for five years.
nbc4i.com Allan Patton. A man whose trial two years ago made public a long-held fetish for drinking the urine of young boys has surfaced again in the Columbus area. And according to complaints filed with Dublin police, his fetish still has him helpless to resist it. Allan Patton, 56, told NBC 4’s Matt Alvarez in a phone call that he has been accused of things, but nothing has been proven. UPDATE: A judge told Alan Patton he wasn't allowed in any public restrooms for five years and that he'd have to wear a global tracking device for the same amount of time in 2006, Alvarez reported. Alvarez will talk to the probation office about what went wrong and what they should do to better enforce the law. See that and SportsOhio's reactions on Patton's alleged activities tonight on NBC 4 and nbc4i.com. So far, Dublin police have charged Patton with a misdemeanor: criminal mischief. Official reports indicate he has been observed putting Saran wrap on toilet seats in public, sports-related venues with the apparent intent to drink any urine collected there. It was that practice that drew Patton to the attention of Gahanna authorities in 2006. During his trial, authorities said he collected urine from boys at a movie theater — and at times even paid for it. After this court session, Patton was supposed to be under electronic surveillance for five years. He must also register as a sexual offender because of a conviction in the 1990’s. Patton told Alvarez he’s consulting legal counsel to deal again with the consequences of this latest surfacing of alleged behavior that is alarming his Dublin neighbors who have reported him to police.
