Actor Bill Murray's wife is making sure nothing gets lost in translation - accusing her husband in divorce papers of being a violent, pot- and booze-addicted pig who trolls for sex partners overseas.

In her petition filed in Charleston, SC, Jennifer Butler-Murray, pictured here with her hubby, suggests that she moved their family to South Carolina to try to cure Murray's lust for pot, booze and sex - to no avail.

"In 2006, the plaintiff moved to Sullivan's Island . . . due to defendant's adultery, addiction to marijuana and alcohol, abusive behavior, physical abuse, sexual addiction [and] frequent abandonment," reads a complaint written by Butler-Murray's lawyer, Robert Rosen.

But the quiet country life didn't keep Murray, star of "Lost in Translation," from seeking action wherever he could score it, Butler-Murray alleged.

Murray, 57, often vanished for days in a never-ending hunt for sex and drugs, his soon-to-be ex-wife said.

"Defendant would often leave the state or country without telling the plaintiff," the petition reads.

"Defendant travels overseas, where he engages in public and private altercations and sexual liaisons."

Butler-Murray and the "Caddyshack" funnyman were hitched July 4, 1997, and they have four kids - Caleb James, 15, Jackson William, 12, Cooper Jones, 11, and Lincoln Darius, who turns 7 today.

Butler-Murray, 42, wants sole custody of the children.

Murray's lawyer in Los Angeles was out of the country yesterday. An aide to the lawyer said their side would have no immediate comment.

In the divorce papers, Butler-Murray recounts a particularly nasty spat the couple had last year, in which, she said, Murray "hit her in the face and then told her she was 'lucky he didn't kill her.' "

"Defendant's violent, abusive and erratic behavior toward plaintiff has destroyed the marital relationship," the filing reads

The couple had signed a boilerplate prenuptial agreement that calls for both sides to walk away with the same assets they had before their union.

Under its terms, Butler-Murray will receive a $7 million, one-time payment from the star.

Murray also is required to buy her a $1 million house in South Carolina, according to the prenup.

The couple's Sullivan's Island home was purchased in 2006 under Butler-Murray's name for $3.6 million, according to property records.
