WIRES

ROHNERT PARK, CALIFORNIA

A Rohnert Park teen is recovering at home after drinking what medical professionals say could have been a lethal amount of alcohol.

Rohnert Park police say the 15-year-old girl's blood-alcohol content was 0.578 — seven times the level for drunken driving — when she was hospitalized over the weekend.

A police spokesman says after being taken by ambulance to a hospital Friday night, doctors feared she would not live through the night.

Police say the girl had been at party at a home with a group of friends, with no adults present.

Investigators are still piecing together what happened that night and trying to determine if there was any criminal wrongdoing.

The name of the girl has not been released.A Rohnert Park teen is recovering at home after drinking what medical professionals say could have been a lethal amount of alcohol.

Only in California would the investigators be trying to determine if there was any criminal wrongdoing. What part of a 15 year old getting intoxicated at a party without adult supervison not a criminal charge. May be the media got it wrong and it should have read the investigators are trying to determine which set of parents to charge with child endangerment.

According to my instructor at breathalyzer school the state (OK) record is 0.60 and the international record (Japan) is 1.00. Both lived.

I was a test dummy (and a real dummy) in a HGN class once. Got up to .09 and could barely stand up. And I'm no tea totaller. How in the hell could a 15 year old live through that?

Unfortunately, people still do not understand that alcohol is a poison to the human body with only carefully controlled amounts tolerated within definite time frames.
