MARIETTA, GEORGIA

Heather Johnston, above, received 10 years probation after she pleaded guilty to theft for her role in the 2007 heist. A judge gave 19-year-old Ashley Miller two years in jail and eight years probation.

The head of the Georgia NAACP called for the state to investigate the sentences given in the so-called "Barbie bandits" bank theft case, saying the two white defendants got less prison time than two black men.

Edward DuBose said Monday he will ask state Attorney General Thurbert Baker to look into the case.

Baker's office said Tuesday the attorney general had not received any complaints in the case.

Last month, Cobb County Superior Court Judge Mary Staley sentenced 20-year-old Heather Johnston to 10 years probation after she pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by taking in the 2007 heist. The judge gave 19-year-old Ashley Miller two years in jail and eight years probation. Both women are white.

Michael Chastang, 28, was sentenced to 10 years
for being the mastermind of the robbery, and bank teller Bennie Allen III, 23, who pleaded guilty, was sentenced to five years. Both men are black. Chastang also is serving 15 years on unrelated drug-trafficking charges and Allen was on probation for a drug conviction.

Johnston and Miller - both former exotic dancers who went by the stage names "Charlie" and "Adrienne" - were nicknamed the "Barbie bandits" after they were videotaped wearing sunglasses and laughing as they appeared to rob a Bank of America branch in Acworth of $11,000.

Ok, so the brother's got a heftier sentence than the caucasin women did. Oh well, that's been known to happen in Ga. and it ain't nuthin new. But let me add in this bit. Male Mope #1 was the Mastermind of the bank heist and was already on probabtion for trafficking in dope. Male Mope #2 took a small part in the heist and was on probation for a prior drug conviction. Does that sound like these two "innocent victims of racial injustice" got the message that "Crime does not pay"? In my opinion, I don't think they did. Also given the gravity of their past illegal behavior, isn't it possible that they were once being sentenced by the same judge who gave them probation for the earlier dope convictions? Or perhaps the judge that sentenced them this time, used the toatality of their circumstances and decided enough was enough. In my opinion that too is quite possible. These guy's got what they deserved....arrested, convicted and lot's of time in prison!

Furthermore I don't think it will be long before you'll be reading another arrest report about these two exotic dancer's. The evidence shows they are not to bright. After all they did hook up with two dope dealer's who talked them into robbing a bank and they also got video taped laughing about it. So does anyone really think it will be long before these two Jungle Fever Celeb's are arrested for committing another crime?

I'm not sure what Edward Duboise is beefing about. In my opinion, he's just grasping at straws and playing an angle he learned at the Al & Jessie University Law School of Bull-Shit and Wild Ass Shit Stirring. Oh well...that's just me. Stay safe
