Harrisburg - Two people are facing charges they killed a severely disabled girl. Police say 10-year-old Quiniece Lockett spent more than a week without medical treatment after suffering severe burns from scalding bath water.

Harrisburg Police arrested the girl's father, Shaun Lockett, and her niece, Lashawn Brown. Both are charged with criminal homicide, endangering a child's welfare, and two counts of conspiracy.

Harrisburg Police Chief Charles Kellar says the burns occurred during a bath that Brown gave Quiniece on April 21st. The girl suffered second and third degree burns on 40-percent of her body, but police say medical help wasn't summoned to the home in the 500 block of Camp Street until the child became unresponsive on Sunday.

Kellar called it one of the worst cases of child abuse he's ever seen. He says Lockett and Brown didn't seek medical help for the girl because of other children in the home. "They were afraid that they would lose their kids, so they said, and that's basically the excuse they gave," Keller said.

Quiniece was blind, partially paralyzed and suffered from cerebral palsy. An autopsy concluded she died because of complications from thermal burns. "Had the child gotten immediate attention," said Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick, "most likely the child wouldn't be dead."

The family had moved to Harrisburg recently from Ohio.

These people are the SCUM of the earth for treating a disabled child like that. Give them to death sentence its the least we should do for that child.

Death penalty, scalding hot water! That would be the only thing close to justice!
