A 72 year-old Florida man claims another driver punched and tasered him after getting into a fender bender.

Don Wallace said he doesn't know why another driver assaulted him.

"As he went by me he pulled in quick and hit my car," said Wallace.

The other driver was 31-year old Jack Dickerson. Wallace said Dickerson got out and quickly walked up to him after the accident.

"The next thing I know he punches me in the face," added Wallace.

After punching him in the face, Dickerson went to his truck and came back with a taser gun. Moments later Wallace was on the ground unconscious.

"I'm lucky because when he fired that thing at me, I must have turned this way and they hit me here (showing his side)," said Wallace. "If I had turned this way (pointing to his chest area), I have a pace maker, and it would have hit in where the pace maker is. And they have wires into my heart, and I'm sure I'd be dead."

Dickerson was arrested and is facing charges of battery on an elderly person.

"I keep thinking this guy is going to come by and shoot my house up or set fire to it," Wallace said.

Jack Dickerson told deputies he used the taser in self-defense. But deputies say Dickerson has changed his story several times during the investigation.

I have been advised by an internationally famous medical expert in the field of electric circuitry of the heart that this is not possible. Pacemakers have circuitry which shield them from extraneous power sources.
