Stacey Horace of Tampa was arrested Tuesday on a charge of child abuse after speaking with investigators, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said. Investigators said the incidents occurred between October 2004 and October 2009 at Horace's home, at 13404 Village Circle, Apt. 102. Dates and times weren't known. In addition to the hammer, belt and stun gun, the sheriff's office said, Horace also hit the children with metal spoons and extension cords. The children ranged in age from 11 months to 10 years old. She also held one child under water, threw urine on one and spat in a boy's face, an arrest report said. The children have been placed with family members, the sheriff's office said. Temple Terrace police brought the case to the attention of the sheriff's office child protection investigators on Nov. 3. Deputies were not able to contact Horace until Tuesday, when she agreed to speak with investigators, the sheriff's office said. Horace was arrested and taken to the Orient Road Jail. Jail records show she was released Tuesday after posting $2,000 bail.
