CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA

Police still haven't found the Virginia Tech student who disappeared in Charlottesville this weekend. Search crews are back out this morning, combing the area around John Paul Jones Arena. They're looking for any clue that can help them break this case.

Twenty-year old Morgan Harrington vanished after Saturday night's Metallica concert at John Paul Jones Arena. Morgan was last seen during the concert, she got separated from friends shortly before 9:00 p.m.

Those living and working near the John Paul Arena may have seen various police activity in the immediate area Tuesday. State and university police canvassed the area to make sure nothing is out of the ordinary and no additional evidence may have been overlooked.

John Paul Jones Arena does have a surveillance system and police have been working with facility about that in regards to this investigation. Since Monday night police have been following up on a couple dozen calls regarding Harrington’s disappearance.

Her parents are now back at home in Roanoke without their daughter. A half empty suitcase and math book are haunting memories for Harrington’s parents at their home. Morgan’s mother, Gil Harrington, said "There is a very empty place, a Morgan-shaped place in our hearts as well as our home right now." Morgan’s father, Dan Harrington, stated "We just want Morgan to come home safely, so we have our baby back."

Governor Tim Kaine issued the following statement Tuesday:  "I know her parents are very concerned, and they've put out a request for anyone with information about their daughter to contact law enforcement. They indicate this would be very uncharacteristic of her."

Police are encouraging the public to come forward with any information, especially those who may have been attending the Metallica concert Saturday night at John Paul Arena. Anyone who may have been videoing or taking pictures (on a cell phone) of the concert or audience/crowds that evening are asked to review such video for anyone who might resemble Miss Harrington and contact state police or UVA police.

Postings about Morgan have spread online, including a Facebook group dedicated to her. On their website Metallica the band posted an article about Morgan.
