A man who authorities say previously was involved with bestiality pornography has been charged with animal cruelty.

Sheriff's investigators said Tuesday that 58-year-old James Michael Tait was having sex with horses on a Maury County farm. The farm owner, 44-year-old Kenny Thomason, also was charged with animal cruelty.

Investigators said they seized photos in the case.

A detective with the Maury County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that Tait and Thomason were also suspected of having sex with dogs. A woman was also arrested for allegedly having sex with animals at the farm, the detective said.

Tait and Thomason are in jail and expected to appear in court Oct. 26. Court officials said they had no record of attorneys for the men.

In 2005, Tait was involved in a widely publicized King County case in which a man died of injuries suffered while having sex with a horse.

Authorities say videotaped another man, Kenneth Pinyan, having sex with a horse at a farm in Enumclaw. Pinyan, of Seattle, later died of internal injuries from the incident.

Authorities said the farm involved in the bestiality death was well-known on the Internet. Investigators found hundreds of hours of videotaped evidence, but there was no evidence of injury to the horses involved, so no animal cruelty charges were ever filed.

Tait got a suspended sentence on a trespassing conviction, and Washington later outlawed bestiality.
