Entire Police Force Quits After Winning Lottery

The entire police force in the town of Budaörs, Hungary, quit after winning more than $16 million (Ft 2.2 billion) in the lottery.

The group of 15 officers presented their lottery ticket and quit on the spot, a story by the Telegraph said. Each of the lucky winners will receive a little more than $1.1 million (Ft 200 million) in winnings. Police chiefs have culled together back-up units to serve the region until more full-time officers can be recruited, the story said.

Hungary's lottery requires the winner to pick five out of 90 numbers on the ticket correctly, and each ticket costs the equivalent of $.50. The winning numbers were: 15, 28, 51, 52 and 73, according to various reports. It was the sixth biggest win in Hungarian lottery history, the Telegraph story said.
