WSB-RADIO Spalding County, Georgia sheriff's deputies say they're appalled at a case of child sex abuse that has recently come to light. Captain Tony Ranieri tells WSB they were notified by authorities in Virginia about a former Griffin resident arrested on porn charges there. 62-year-old Richard Castleberry, who is awaiting extradition back to Spalding County, has admitted to sexually molesting and videotaping his ex-girlfriend's grandchildren and while they lived in Griffin last year. Ranieri says Castleberry lived with another man and, as they were moving, the roommate discovered the videotapes and contacted the sheriff's department. Deputies immediately launched an investigation. "During their investigation, they located several VCR tapes that showed Mr. Castleberry engaged in molestation of two different children," Ranieri says. "You can tell on the videotapes that they were young kids." Investigators say the molestations probably began as early as February 2008 and continued until January of this year. "With what we found was probably some of the worst child molestation that I have ever seen in my 25 years," says Ranieri.
