New Orleans Police say they have arrested a 76-year-old man's girlfriend for allegedly killing the elderly man in his Central City home.

"During the course of the on-going investigation, Homicide Detective Antonio Sosa positively identified Binika Hankton as the suspect responsible for the murder and obtained an arrest warrant for First Degree Murder,” Officer Janssen Valencia said in a news release.

"Officers responded to a call of a wellness check and upon their arrival, found the victim lying in his bed unresponsive," Valencia said. "Emergency Medical Technicians arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead."

The coroner ruled that Henry Barber had been stabbed to death.
