THEPITTSBURGHCHANNEL.com Police say someone deliberately put nails and screws in the tires of at least nine unmarked detectives' cars at police headquarters on the North Side. The tires on an officer's personal car were also punctured with nails in vandalism that police believe happened over the course of a week. Police became concerned when several detectives noticed slow leaks and low tire pressure, spokeswoman Diane Richard said. When they checked their tires, they noticed nails. Ms. Richard said the crime is inconvenient and potentially dangerous. "Obviously, someone put them there," she said.
