An attorney representing the city of Gahanna is speaking out today about a lawsuit filed by Gahanna Police Officer Ron Fithen.
In a lawsuit filed last week, Officer Fithen claims he endured "a humiliating and intolerable working environment" after his wife appeared nude in Playboy early last year.
Lawyer Brian Zets, representing Gahanna, said the city is still waiting to be served with the lawsuit, but he said the city denies the allegations being reported in the media.
Officer Fithen seeks $3.5 million in damages from the city of Gahanna, its police department and police officials.
Attorney John Sherrod says Fithen was harassed on the job, asked repeatedly for copies of the magazine and for the autograph of his wife, Beth.
The lawsuit also claims police launched an investigation of the couple that caused emotional distress.
